Keeping a Diary, Think again...

Read this in yesterday's papers in the Tech & Science Segment

Talking about a problem is supposed t help one get over it, but apparently writing it does the very opposite. Psychologist have found that keeping a diary is bad for your health (Gasp!), the New Scientist weekly reported. Diarists were more likely than non-diarists to be plaugues by headaches, sleeplessness, digestive problems and social awkwardness.. Hmm better stop that "Dear Diary" habit...

This is very very interesting because it seems to me that people who keep a diary or blog are people who are usually more expressive people so how does that explain the "social awkwardness" syndrome? Just an interesting to read to share with all

you see.. that's why its from the New Scientists. wahaha.. kidding. :) i'd say the study probably a bit skewed. in social work, there's actually a 'bibliotherapy' - writing to ventilate.

anyhow, 'dear Diary' and 'dear God' ain't the same.

then again, i could be plain biased and defensive and i'm just acting out on my 'sleeplessness, headaches, and social awkwardness.' ;) haha! and i must EXPRESS myself.

Hmmm these psychologists may have a point...

More time in self-expression on diary = less time doing the same with friends = less time eating (well, because when you whine over your day with friends, what do you whine over? Cakes, ice cream, gelare, frappuccinno... food. Right.)

And, less time eating = less food consumed = less nourishment to the body = weaker bodies = bad for health. Voila. The rationale.

Those scientists obviously have the right conclusion, but the wrong explanation. Goodness, you'd think they were capable of more logical thinking. Guess I'll have to set them on the right track.
